ExCentric breaks away from the norm, offering a refreshing take on office furniture. The pieces in this collection, which include a desk, coffee table, bookcase, and sideboard, feature unique design elements that create a sense of imbalance and unsettlement. The intention is to remind users that there is always another way to see reality.
Handcrafted by skilled artisans, ExCentric combines traditional craftsmanship with modern technology. Laser cutting techniques were employed to achieve the precise angles required for the design. The furniture is made from veneered or lacquered MDF and stainless steel, giving it a sleek and polished appearance.
The desk, in particular, offers more than meets the eye. It is equipped with embedded sockets for charging devices and can even accommodate a computer, thanks to its discreet technology integration. With ExCentric, functionality and aesthetics go hand in hand.
The dimensions of the furniture pieces are as follows: the desk measures 2000 x 800 x 740, the sideboard measures 2000 x 500 x 740, the coffee table measures 1000 x 1000 x 300, and the bookcase measures 2200 x 2200 x 400. Customization options are available, including different wood finishes.
ExCentric was designed in Porto, Portugal, and went through an extensive research and development process. The project began in March 2014, with the final models completed in early January 2016. The furniture was showcased at Maison et Objet in Paris in January of the same year.
This unique line of office furniture has garnered recognition in the design world. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2016, which recognizes well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. ExCentric stands out for its ability to integrate industry best practices and technical characteristics while providing a sense of fulfillment and positive emotions.
ExCentric is not just furniture; it is an experience. It challenges the status quo and encourages users to embrace a different perspective. With its unconventional design and thoughtful craftsmanship, this collection is sure to make a lasting impression in any office space.
